In
a further move to bolster the squad as the season moves into an exciting and
critical period, Swans manager Marcus Gayle has added young striker Dan Brown
to the squad – the young, highly-rated former Ashford Town (Middx) front-man
signed from Wingate & Finchley last night after enjoying a second training
session with his new Swans team-mates – that on the back of a Club debut
appearance for the reserves on the previous night, as the Swans defeated local
rivals Hampton & Richmond Borough by the odd goal in five at Wheatsheaf
Park.
Having earlier hit the headlines of
our own local press, catching the eye by regularly banging in goals for the
'Ash Trees', the young front-runner took the opportunity to step-up a level
when an approach was made by Ryman League side Wingate & Finchley in the
autumn and, with the north London club, he's since scored a handful of goals in
a side spurred-on by midfield
pocket-dynamo Andre Scarlett.
As the Swans face a real 'six-pointer'
away at fellow strugglers Billericay Town on Saturday, Brown will go straight
into the squad. On the debit side however, the visitors will seemingly have to
do without the services in midfield of Troy Ferguson who is still sore having
been on the end of that 'horror' challenge from Chelmsford City's David
Rainford last Saturday at Wheatsheaf Park.
