STAINES LAMMAS (1) 1 STAINES TOWN (0) 4

The visiting Swans who’d ventured just half a mile or so up the Laleham Road for the game, came out of the afternoon with many plus points, but also some interesting points for the new boss to think about following a 4-1 win – this, however, after managing to go in a goal down at the break, despite creating a good handful of chances.

Debut goalkeeper Jack Turner was beaten midway thru’ the first half by Matt Baxter and despite close calls for Tony Garrod, Max Worsfold and a disallowed ‘goal’ for David Wheeler, the Swans trooped off at the break 1-0 down.

However, newly appointed skipper Elliott Godfrey equalised with a terrific half-volley from 25 yards just before the hour mark and, as the Swans increased the tempo, one of nine second-half substitutes Louie-Rae Beadle set-up first Hanif Boyle and Enez Azemi who provided astute finishes to turn the game around. The fourth goal came from 18 year-old Reece Hall who smacked home a shot from the edge of the box in the last minute.
